Description

The dog rear support sling gives your older dog a steady hand when standing up after a nap, climbing stairs, or getting into the car — so you don’t have to lift all the weight yourself.

He still wags when he hears “walk.” Some days his back legs just don’t get the message. A dog rear support sling is a simple physical mobility aid: it supports and steadies the hindquarters while your dog keeps walking on their own front legs. There’s no slipping towel to re-tie, and no need to bend over and haul him up by yourself.

Why not just use a towel?

A bath towel works in a pinch, but it twists, slips, and concentrates pressure in a narrow line — and it forces you to hunch to grip both ends. A purpose-built dog rear support sling keeps a wide, flat band open under the belly and puts padded handles at a height that lets you stand up straight.

Why owners use a dog rear support sling

As dogs get older, the back legs can be slower to respond. Getting up from lying down, tackling a single step, or jumping into the car can suddenly feel like a lot. This dog rear support sling lets you share the load: you hold the handles, the wide band takes some weight off the rear, and your dog keeps the independence of moving on their own. Owners often tell us the small moments get easier again — the bedtime trip outside, the morning stroll, loading up for a park visit.

PIPQO dog rear support sling helping a senior dog climb stairs

Soft where it touches, strong where it holds

A wide 600D Oxford band lined with thick, cozy sherpa sits gently under the belly instead of digging in. The broad band spreads support across a wider area rather than concentrating it on one narrow strap.

Adjusts in seconds

Slide the plastic buckles to set the strap length, grip the padded handles, and stand upright — so helping your dog doesn’t strain your back. Stainless steel rings keep the straps secured.

Reflective for low-light walks

Reflective webbing runs along the straps, so your dog is easier to spot at dawn and dusk. Some slings leave this out; we kept it in because those short evening trips are exactly when you need help.

How to fit your dog rear support sling

  1. Measure the widest part of the hips before ordering — don’t choose by weight alone.
  2. Position the band under the belly, just in front of the back legs, sherpa side against your dog.
  3. Adjust the straps so you can hold the handles while standing upright.
  4. You should fit two fingers under the band; re-adjust before each use so it stays positioned comfortably.

When to use it

Getting up after a nap · stairs · into the car · potty breaks · short walks · moving around after an operation.

What this is — and isn’t

It supports the rear for short assisted moments, not full-body lifting or all-day wear. A flat sling works best when fitted correctly, so re-adjust before each use. If your dog can’t bear weight on the back legs at all, a walking cart may fit better — compare options in our Mobility Support collection. For sudden weakness, pain, or injury, contact your veterinarian.

Sizing

Designed for dogs about 20–60 lb. Measure the widest part of the hips — don’t choose by weight alone. A 75-lb dog can measure 29 inches; if the size you’re considering tops out at 28, choose the next size up. Between sizes? Size up.

Care and storage

Washable for easy care — follow the care label and air dry. When not in use, the dog rear support sling folds into the included drawstring pouch.
